Chrome Extensions
My student in MYP Design wanted to try making an extension for his design project. So, I tried to jump ahead of him to make one first. Now I have many for not only Google Chrome and other Chromium-based browsers, but also Microsoft Edge and Firefox.

KAS Central Sharing Hub
November 2015
There was a need to share great teaching and learning. That idea was combined with the already existing blog directory to make Share: a centralized space for resources and learning documentation as well as building community. It is a central part of the strategic plan (see below).
KAS Learning Technology Strategic Plan

KAS Middle School Digital Citizenship Discussion
October 2016
KAS High School Digital Footprint Discussion
September 2015 & October 2016
As the school's technology coach, I conducted advisory lessons for the middle and high schools. I intended them to be discussions, but some classes were rather quiet and they turned into more of a lecture.
October 2014
As TIS became an IB PYP candidate school, we began posting the learner profile and PYP-related documents around the school.
I came across a great set of posters with kid-friendly language from acrutialweek.blogspot.com.
But kids want to look at themselves, so I thought that putting their own pictures on the posters would get them to look at the posters. So far, it's been great and will be something I continue to do.
TIS 25th Anniversary Logo
Life After TIS
June 2014
Student council put on an event to host alumni so they could share their experiences of transitioning out of our school and into university life. Student Council did a great job putting it together.

September 2014
I was asked to come up with an idea for the 25th Anniversary Logo. This was one of the drafts, but not the one chosen.

Global Connections

Below is a book my class in Japan created for a school in Korea and the United States. The three classes created books on Book Creator, and shared them using Dropbox. We then created a shared book about communities that I used for part of my final COETAIL project.

Field Trips
Beginning in the 2013-2014 school year
This year I have started recording our field trips to keep an archive of what we are doing throughout the year. More videos can be seen here.
This video is my effort to make our philosophy more accessible to the non-native English speakers of our community.
I took on the task of creating a presentation that would tell the public about our school at an international fair in Sendai city. This presentation has been remixed and used as the base for other school presentations.
This infographic is to answer the question some parents and potential parents have about where graduates can go after leaving Tohoku International School.

Tohoku International School Nationality Breakdown
July 2013
I made this infographic to better show the nationalities of the school. I used the students' passports to gather the data.

TIS K-6 Technology Acceptable Use Policy
June 2013
One project we had during COETAIL was to redesign our school's technology acceptable use policy or create on if we did not have it. I took this opportunity to create a policy tailored for our elementary school.
I then collaborated with teachers at my school to further tailor it to our needs.
Digital Footprint Survey
May 2013
An infographic I made for my COETAIL course. I wanted to know more about school hiring practices, so I surveyed the Headmasters of International Schools in Japan through JCIS for my data.

Maintained the TIS School Website
February 2013 - June 2014
I was given the task of maintaining the school website. My vision was to make it more visually appealing, more accessible to the Japanese and mobile audience, and make it easier to use. This is a work in progress.
EARCOS Article
November 2012
My article about the gardening experience at Tohoku International School was published in the 2012 EARCOS Journal Winter Issue on p.44.

Below is roughly how I wanted the article formatted.

Created a TIS Marketing Logo and Envelope
March 2011
To match the letterhead with envelopes, the need for a new envelope arose. It was also suggested that we have an alternative logo.
Updated the TIS Purchase Order Form
May 2010
With the old purchase order form having 10-Point Font lines that made it hard to hand write, and no formula for addition, I felt it was time for a change. With input from the elementary coordinator, I put this order form together.
This is what the elementary team uses now at TIS when we order resources.
Created the TIS Marketing Brochure
August 2010
Below is one of the final drafts of the marketing brochure I helped create. When it was saved as a PDF, some of the elements shifted in this version.
Photographer for Publications and the TIS School Website
2009 - 2015
The school is in constant need of pictures for newsletters, the website, the yearbook, and marketing material. Luckily, I like taking pictures.
Updated the TIS Parent Student Handbook
May 2009
This was an effort to make the Parent Teacher Handbook a little more visually appealing. I added pictures, some of my own graphics, and some color to it.
Tohoku International School Internal Document Wiki
May 2009
I put together a wiki for school documents to be accessible from anywhere. Now in 2017, I would create an internal Blogger blog for staff and tag documents.

Updated the TIS School Logo
May 2009
The school's logo was in a GIF format. GIFs are great for some things, but I felt the school needed the logo in SVG format so it could be resized with out losing quality.
